Technical Calculations

energyplus advisors can carry out a wide range of calculations, based on a combination of experience and advanced industry software programmes, to enable you to design and create buildings that meet required thermal criteria.

U-Value Calculations

In accordance with the Convention for U Value Calculations BR 443 2006 edition, U Values are calculated using software which uses the combined method for calculation (also known as the simplified method) BS EN ISO 6946 for walls and roofs and BS EN ISO 10211/ BS EN ISO 13370 for floors.

Interstitial Condensation Analysis

energyplus offers a graphical display of the risk of interstitial condensation as part of a U Value or Full SAP calculation. Whenever using Springvale products, the risk of interstitial condensation is automatically calculated by the assessor carrying out the calculation and the risk is reported whenever materials have been specified incorrectly.

Thermal Modelling

Thermal modelling is the most effective way of calculating thermal transmittances via bitmap conversion. Our software allows the simulation of steady state heat transfer in two-dimensional objects of any shape. It conforms to BS EN ISO 10211 and enables the designer to calculate surface temperatures at critical junctions within any structure and prevent the effects of cold bridging which can lead to excessive heat loss and condensation problems.
